Movie Night With Him

Sport has been begging to watch "The Odd Life Of Timothy Green".
Apparently,  one of his buddies at school told him it was such a cool movie!
But, it wasn't a movie I thought our younger children would enjoy, so we watched Madagascar 3 for movie night instead.
Sport was pretty bummed.
We have kind of reached a frustrating stage for him.
He's interested in big boy movies, but mom doesn't think he's quite old enough yet, and his younger siblings just aren't interested.
Anyway, after our movie was over, and I had tucked the girls and baby T in bed,
I pulled Sport aside and asked him if he wanted to have a movie night with mom.
His face lit up and he whispered, "You can't joke with me like that, mom!  You're kidding, right?"
He was SO excited!
I grabbed some blankets and we cuddled up on the couch together and watched "The Odd Life Of Timothy Green".
It was a sweet movie, and I even saw Sport trying to hide a few tears :)
We had great night together!
I love my time with our boy.
He's growing up too fast.

Poor JP spent his night working on our house.
He has an amazing work ethic.
I don't know how he fits everything in that he does.
I'm in love with my boys!

Uncle John's Party! It's Tradition.

I placed my Uncle John on the "Awesome Uncle List" a long time ago!
He's a hoot and knows how to have a good time with us kids.
Every year we visit Arizona, he holds his annual movie and pizza night for the WHOLE family.
He projects a movie outside on the big screen and one inside for our entertainment, then we
chat it up while stuffing our faces and watching the children play.
Thank you, Uncle John and Aunt Monica (we know who really does all the work ;)!

Goofing off on the porch swing...

Yup! They're all related...
Baby Timmy beat his cousin Chloe to the top every time!
Ready to cause some trouble...
Second cousins!
The newest babies in the fam...
These two girls discovered the girly room!
We didn't see them much after that.
Getting cozy on the lawn, watching the movie...
I had to dig through the blankets to find Sport!
Apparently 75 degrees in the desert is a little too cool for him...
The big boys watching the big screen...
Laughing with his Uncle Ben!
Timmy thought he was pretty funny.
Chowing down on some pizza...
The cool kids...
Cute girls watching the movie Brave...
While Great Grandpa John snored on the couch!
I believe it's safe to say that Uncle John has now been placed on Sports "Awesome Uncle List" too!
He pulled out a kit with all kinds of gadgets to assemble, and Sport was in Heaven!
That's where he stayed for the rest of the evening...and then it kept him busy for the rest of our stay.
Thank you, Uncle John!
Christmas came early :)
He's still working on piecing together his monster truck.
Cute momma Lauren with her happy little girl!
I miss that sweet smile already.
The boys topped off their night with a dip in the pool.
Check out those muscles...wooooah.
They were so dang cold!
Crazy...I tell ya.

It's always a good time when we're together.

Daughter's First Date

I love being a girl.
Because I'm my daddy's girl.
And that rocks!

Time with their daddy is all they ever want.
It doesn't really matter what they're doing as long as they're with him.
But, Madagascar 3 was pretty hilarious!
Which made for an awesome daddy date.

Him...Me...Still In Love.

We actually went on a date this year!
A real one.
Not the quick ice cream stop or walk around the block (Although those are nice too, and very much needed).
Mr. JP lined up some babysitters (THANK YOU, Adrienne and Kate!!) and we headed to our favorite sushi bar on earth.
It was delicious, as usual!
Then we held hands like love birds and strolled through The Shops At Riverwoods.
Of course we had to play at Blickenstaff's along the way!
It's become one of our family's favorite toy stores.
We get to see toys and treats there that we've only heard our parents and grandparents talk about.
They also have a Vintage Candy Wall with candy from every decade since the 1930's.
Everywhere you look they have scooters, cars, bikes and trains for children to play with.
But, my personal favorites are the hand puppets.
I want them all!
We snatched up some Rieston Chew, Toblerone, Razzles, and Big League Chew then headed for the movie theater where we watched The Dark Knight Rises.
Yes, it was goooood.
Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway are some of my faves.
We felt like little kids all over again.
I'm looking forward to many more years and eternity with my best friend.
I can't imagine what the future holds for us...eight years have already given us so much!

Another Goodbye...& Wings!

Mmmm...wings...
I love 'em!
It's hard to top an evening out with with my little brother and sister when a 3D movie and hot wings are involved.
Our little brother Ammon is leaving us and heading back home.
We are going to miss him!
He's kept us entertained, and we've had some good times together.
We spent our last night goofing off, playing tricks on Cams, covering our faces in wing sauce, driving all over town looking for a late night movie we could ALL agree on...which never happened by the way.  Cams just agreed to suffer through Pirates of the Caribbean in 3D at the dollar theater, because nothing else was playing!  It was all part of the fun :)
The movie wasn't THAT BAD.
Or maybe we were just high on mint chocolate cake.
I love you guys.

Lucky Girls

Our little boys stole us away for an evening at the dollar theater to watch RIO in 3D!
{Me & Sport-Sarah & J. sporting our 3D glasses}
We ate popcorn until we felt the salt and butter start to work it's way back up, and laughed over the silly movie lines (these two boys couldn't stop their giggling).
Thank you for the date, Sport!
Mom sure loves spending time with her little man.

Our Last Night With Harry

Yup...I read all the books and enjoyed watching the kids grow to adulthood on the big screen!
I'm gonna miss little Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, and even mean ol' Professor Snape.
It's been an exciting adventure in their magical world, and I've loved all the fun memories we created along the way.

We got to watch the final Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II  with some of our favorite people.
Fortunately, they're Harry fans too!
They had me laughing so hard I nearly choked to death and had to use the ladies room half way through the movie.
That's typically what happens when the four of us are together.
The movie was spectacular! So glad it didn't disappoint.
And we couldn't beat the company :)

Thank you for the fun adventure, J.K. Rowling!

Movie Night

Iron Man 2
We actually really liked it!

Every time we visit our family in Arkansas, dad takes us to the movies. It's a real treat there, because the closest movie theater is 45 miles away!   Needless to say, we didn't go the the movies very often when I was growing up :)
And while we are near food and groceries, we usually go out to eat, get a treat, and pick up a few things for mom. My brother's David and Ammon doing...something (bopping Ammon on the head?)...probably just trying to avoid the camera!
David being David...
My little sister Emma and I in our matching shirts!  All of us sisters tend to buy the same clothes, whether shopping together or not.  :)  Jeez...she's making me look old!
Thanks for the movie night, dad! It was a lot of fun being with you, and goofing off with my siblings again. Great movie too!
