School News

Minnie's little Pre-school Easter program was adorable!
She puts her whole heart into singing.
I loooooove it!
She's learned sign language this year and is super good at it!
I call her my ray of sunshine, because she has a way of cheering anyone up...
and yellow is her favorite color :)
Her little buddy was spending the day with me, so he got to be there for her show.
She felt SO special!

Our Princess was given the Nobel Knight award at school for being the leader in her class!
She's our go-getter and was so excited to finally receive this award.
She's been working hard for it!
Way to go cute girl!
Mom knew you could do it XOXO

Big Things Are Happening!

Our carpet goes in today, and my little brother Ammon is marrying the beautiful Ashley tomorrow!
It's a good Monday :)
These guys worked fast!
I was worried that the carpet wouldn't be my favorite.
It was the best of the best at a great price, so we went with it.
But, it definitely wasn't my first choice.
I'm SO happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome!
The guest bath is nearly tiled, and I love it!
What a relief.
Not bad for using whatever Home Depot had on clearance, right?
Counter-tops, light fixtures, plumbing, appliances, and a pantry door made her into a beautiful kitchen.
Yes, I cried like a big ol' baby!
She means a lot to me :)
And we're going to create a whole bunch of memories together!
So much room!
I can hardly wait!
I've already started unpacking dishes.

We're almost there!

Love My Kitchen, Love My Family Even More

By a miracle (several), we made it!
The house was painted in the nick of time.
My parents and younger siblings arrived from Arkansas, and I was beyond ecstatic to see them!
My heart skipped a beat, and my eyes filled with tears.
Just getting a hug from my dad and mom made everything absolutely perfect!
I miss them so much, and it meant the world to me that they would drive all that way to help us install our cabinets made by MY dad.
I was beside myself :)

{Kitchen before the cabinets and floor}
The cabinets fit like a glove.
My dad's a genius!

{My dad and young brother David putting up the cabinets}
The girls helped Uncle Matt (My younger brother) screw on the hinges and cabinet doors...
Making sure everything was level, which was difficult to do in such an old house...
Man power!
{Matt, David, Dad, Jonny, & Princess}
Installing the bar full of roll-out drawers.
So excited!
We didn't think there would be time or energy left to install the flooring!
But, my family made a night of it and got it all in.
I couldn't believe it!
That was such a HUGE help and blessing.
{My dad}
My little bro is such a stud...
Half way there!
My baby sister Emma and I delivered the food that my mom and sister Cami made for the crew...
I love this girl.
Sport stuck it out with the big boys!
He didn't want to miss a thing.
Taking five and eating tacos...
{My brother-in-law Seth always knows how to make a picture}
By morning my kitchen looked like this!
And my family was headed home to Arkansas.

A "thank you" just doesn't seem to cut it.

Set Back

We were so excited to be able to hire a painter for the inside of our house, because we've been in over our heads.
SO, you can imagine our dissapointment when we walked into our freshly painted house to find the paint bubbling and pealing off the walls!
The painter we hired skipped priming the freshly textured walls and went right to the paint (trying to save himself a little time and money).
We are STILL paying the consequence for his dishonesty!

I don't know if you can see it very well...
The paint on our walls was just pealing (falling) off and bubbling all over.

Needless to say, the husband and I spent the next couple of nights painting ourselves...

Those were some very long, crazy nights!
I'm pretty sure we got a little high on fumes....

Once we painted as long as our eyes could stay open, the husband headed to work, while I played the zombie mom.
I'm so glad that's behind us now.
Lesson learned!
And our walls look amazing :)

Little Girls & Heels

Our ladies have discovered my high heels and jewelry.
They are now a part of their dress up wardrobe, whether I like it or not...
It's just so funny and cute watching them try to walk gracefully around the house in them!
I love our little girly girls :)
As for me, I've spent the past two days packing boxes and cleaning out junk.
It's amazing how much STUFF one can accumulate in such small quarters in a matter of six years!
My sister (ready to pop out baby number three any day now) just spent hours helping me pack up the kitchen, while her husband Seth helped JP haul everything over to our garage.
I'm so glad they came to help us.
We were so ready to tucker out!
 But, we just don't have the time.

 Now I have about five loads of laundry to fold.
Oh, how I despise moving!
...keeping my eye on the prize.

Dusty Weekend

I'm still coughing up mud-dust, and I was wearing a mask!
But, someone has to clean up the mess :)
All the sheetrock and texturing on the walls and ceilings is finished!
It's starting to look like a home...

{Boys room and master bedroom}
I vacuumed and sanded mud off the baseboards and floors late into the night.
It's been very exhausting, but rewarding.
It's all in preparation for the paint.
Which is so exciting!
Our bro-in-law Seth spent his Saturday helping us with baseboards and trim.
He's pretty awesome like that!
And thanks to my sister for holding down the fort at home.
I wouldn't have been able to get much done with a baby on my hip!
This picture was taken at midnight...
My JP had to get all the trim finished up for the painters on Tuesday!
Doesn't it look fabulous??
I've got me a handy man :)
We will fill in the nail-holes and joints tomorrow.

{Basement family-room windowsill and trim}

Next comes paint and flooring.
Ten days till move in!
AAAHHH!!!
